  1. yes to both. I would try feeding raw and if your dog doesn't like the consistency of it..then slightly boil them to change the consistency and refeed it to him.

  2. There is such things as the raw diet but most vets don't agree with it.  Cooked proteins and by products as well as regular dog food is fine.  Anything raw is still dangerous to dogs as it is to humans.  Dogs can get salmonella etc just like humans.  I would be careful with feeding your pet raw anything unless it's veggies.

  3. Most people who feed raw, only feed raw.  Check out these sites for more information:

Also there is a group on yahoo.com called RAWFEEDING

You can get answers to your questions on these sites.

Also, some dogs don't like the texture at first, so you can puree it raw and mix it with ground meat or ground/slightly cooked veggies if you feed those.

  4. Ditto what misslady said...

Dogs can get salmonella just like humans so I would cook it

  5. Yep, either is good.

But if it's the first time you're feeding them raw, your dog may look at you with a "WTF is this gross stuff?" look on his face.  However, once they try it they usually love it.
