My nephew has liquid in the right side of his body and the doctors don't know what it is. He has severe pain whenever he works out and cannot play football any longer. They have ruled out: cancer, stitch, and have taken blood tests. They have done several different kinds of scans including MRI and ultrasound and found no masses. They were leaning toward a hernia (it's a bit above his pelvic bone-I think too high) but today the surgeon said he thinks it is still something muscular. He still has the fluid there and one of the doctors (I think a sports doctor) said this might be okay in a woman but not in a man. Is it possible my nephew is leaking enzymes from a muscle? I know my mother had that when she was taking a cholesterol medicine but my nephew takes nothing. Is enzyme leakage still possible? Does anyone in medicine here have ANY idea what this could be? Kindly advise asap.
