Internally is this country heading to WAR with each other?

Has there been this much hatred toward each other since the Civil War. Unfortunatly, history has shown us that free societys don't last very long. When people think for themselves there will always be war with the person who differs. I know this is radical, but maybe we should consider a two state solution? I mean liberals get one side and Conservatives get the other. The country would become one again after the Conservatives (who support a advanced military) overthrows the "spit ball" weaponary of the liberals. What do you think?

It's kind of like that already.

The liberals have the good parts of the country:  NYC, Boston, California, Chicago, and Seattle.

The conservatives get the rest of it; you know, the podunk redneck places where book stores are nowhere to be found and shoe usage is sporadic.

Like Doug says.... I see it moving to a communistic county allready! You cant do this your place you live can only be these certain colors, you can't have this in you yard.... BUT you still got to pay taxes!!!!!!!!  People put out of there own homes, but still must pay for them?!!!!  The government is so darn corrupt.....  making up c**p so they can attact another country!,,,, WOW ..... Sending our kids but none of their own off to war to get killed..... giving themselves raises when so many people are out of work!!! Whats wrong with that picture>>>> I think we need to take back this country and get those b******s out get rid of those lobbists and start over!!!!

Obviously this is a "what if" question and it really makes you think. What can we honestly do to better the situation? I can't really see anything. I mean the only good thing about liberals is the fact that eventually they die, unfortunately, not all at the same time. I think we are getting closer to another Civil War of some sort, maybe not to the extent as the first one, but I believe something will happen if this progressive socialist movement keeps invading the government to change us from a republic to socialism...and gradually thereafter into communism.

No, I don't think this country is heading to war with each other. I think most people have nuanced opinions and don't fall into strict buckets of liberal about everything or conservative about everything. I have a friend who is a grad of Annapolis and is very pro military but liberal on lots of other things. I am a L*****n who is socially liberal but very conservative when it comes to fiscal spending and entitlement programs.

The only people who want to go to "war" in some imagined "us versus them" scenario are those who are too headstrong to realize that other opinions are valid and that most issues are complex.

We are all Americans and being able to debate issues rather than wanting the other side to die is what has made America great.

I suggest you do some indepth reading on Lincoln, as he struggled with many of these same questions.

Also, there have been several Sci-fi novels written with the premis of Wash. State, Oregon, and N. California having ceceeded from the union.  All very interesting.

I thinkit's more important to keep the country together and work out our differences.
