International Cricket Council Future Tours Programme - New Zealand Cricket happy
The New Zealand cricket managers are satisfied with the International Cricket Council’s (http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625) newly devised Future Tours Programme (FTP).
It is likely to perk up their revenue as two http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Richard-Griffith-c41953 cricketing nations, England and India, are set to pay three and two visits respectively to the Kiwi nation during the period of eight years ranging from 2012 to 2020.
The ICC formulated a mega FTP for the coming eight years during its annual meeting at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, India,
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, and, New Zealand.
As per the FTP, England will play three Test series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 while India is to tour the Black Caps twice.
The Kiwis think that these 5 Test series will bring in a lot of revenue in New Zealand.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Justin-Thomas-Caldwell-Vaughan-c69731, the Chief Executive of New Zealand Cricket (NZC) said, “We've got a lot of cricket and tours by really big countries. In an eight-year period we've got three tours by England and a couple of tours by India, which is great for lots of reasons
for NZC”.
He went on to say, “It is congested, I won't lie, we haven't cut back on the volume of cricket but we're really http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Arthur-Percival-Day-c45927 with the home programme we've got”.
The NZC is currently going through severe financial crisis due to the devalued local currency and poor gate receipts from its international matches.
In order to cut its expenses by at least $3 million, the board has recently announced to chop up the salaries and rewards of the professional cricketers and delay them till 2015.
Now, the new FTP has given a ray of hope to the Kiwis as they are going to earn a lot from their home games in the future.
Any series or tournament featuring England, or, India, produces huge revenues as both the teams have high viewership and sponsorship around the globe. England, the ‘Mother of Cricket’, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, the number one Test and One Day International World Champions,
are always the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Main-c73911 focus of international sports media.
