Question:

International Students?

I want to study abroad in high school...

1) how old do you have to be ?

2) do you have to maintain a certain gradepoint average, etc?

3) i am interested in scotland and ireland, is there good schooling here?

4) what does it normally cost ?

I am really interested...any experience will be helpful!! THANKS!

  1. It all depends on the high school. Search in yahoo for irish and scottish institutes and go to each's webpage and read.


  2. If you are from the U.S. these answers will be appropriate:

    1. 15-18 1/2

    2. It depends upon the organization and whether or not you are applying for scholarships. Generally a C+ will do it for no scholarships and if you show other qualities desirable in an exchange student.

    3. I would assume so, however if you come from an English speaking country, you would be losing a big benefit of an exchange year by going to another English speaking country. Language immersion is one of the main things you'll get out of an exchange year.

    4. Without scholarships, most program fees range from USD $7,000 to $10,000 depending upon the program and the country you're going to. Rotary is much cheaper, but much more competitive.
