International Table Tennis Federation Junior Girls Ranking – Table Tennis News
The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) issued their ranking for the Junior Girls Standing for the month of May.
There was progress for Japanese young girls in the ranking, as the top seeds were retained.
Kasumi Ishikawa from Japan won the title of the Junior Singles Girls at the French Junior and Cadet Open held at Mitz. She has made a place on the top ten players of the Junior Girls standings of the current ranking. She is now on the ninth seed on the current
ranking with 1250 points.
Ishikawa was the winner of the ITTF Junior Circuit Finals in the Junior Girls Singles category and was having a tough time in reaching the top rankings of the ITTF. However, her title at Metz enabled her to make a place on the top ten of the ranking.
The top seed was retained by Dora Madarasz with 2160 from Hungary. The Hungarian player won the ITTF Junior Girls titles at the Hungarian Open and the Austrian Junior and Cadet event earlier this year. Following her on the second seed is the player from
Romania Bernadette Szocs, with 2140 points. She was the semi-finalist in the French open and was the winner of the Czech Junior and Cadet Open earlier this year.
The third seed is once again retained by Singapore’s Isabelle Siyun Li with 2125. The fourth seed is occupied by Doo Hoi Kem from Hong Kong. She was the runner-up in the French Open. Three places below is her compatriot, Soo wai Yam with 1325, on the seventh
seed.
The fifth seed with 1690 points is retained by Dina Meshraf from Egypt. She competed in two Junior ITTF championships in two different continents. Dina was the winner of the first ITTF Junior event the Iraq Junior and Cadet Open.
Chen Szu-Yu from Chinese Taipei is holding the ninth seed with 1300 points. She was the winner of the African Junior Open. The semi-finalist of the French Open Laura Gasnier from France made a place on the top-20 players of the ranking. She secured the 17
rank with 880 points.
The top seeds retained their places as there was progress for the French and Japanese players in the current ranking.
