  1. Generally, if you work for a global company that has multiple locations that work together, you will be traveling, especially if you are a VP, part of an implementation team, or product development team.  However, you have to make sure that your 'territory' is worldwide versus 'local', if you are in the Sales department.

Also, just an FYI, if you do travel international, its not fun and games.  You basically see inside of a hotel and your work office and the airport, and thats about it.  Right now, with the gas prices and the high employment rates, everyone is cutting back, so not many people are traveling overseas as much.  And if you do, you have to be pretty high up the corporate ladder.

As for accountants traveling overseas, I dont know of any.  Numbers are numbers anywhere you go.  A company wouldnt send an accountant overseas just to figure out numbers.  The whole point of traveling overseas is that you are physically needed there to speak about a particular topic or you in particular are physcially needed at a location.  Same thing for consultants.  Consultants are not employees, and dont even get benefits.  It wouldnt make sense to pay consultants for their time and also pay for all their travel expenses when companies wont even pay for their benefits.
