International checked baggage allowence?

It says each passenger is allowed 2 pieces of checked baggage. The maximum dimensions of the two pieces combined must not exceed 107 inches( length+height+width)

So basically I do this. Put two luggages on top of each other and just measure length, height of two stacked on each other, and width?
