  1. Simple, NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Its basically just a countries forming a gang.

So lets say if someone were to attack the U.K

the US, Canada, and any other countries that is part of the NATO would help out.

    http://www.worldbank.org/

  3. It is alleged that Saddam, on Mr. Annan's watch, under U.N. sanctions and oil-for-food

supervision, scammed and smuggled some $17.3 billion in oil money

meant for relief, using some of that money to fund terrorism, import

weapons, and buy influence with Security Council members France,

    Russia, and China.

On top of that, only now is it learned that for fully more than eight

years, from 1995-2004, the secretary-generals son was in one way or

another on the payroll of Cotecna, which for almost five of those

years held a crucial oil-for-food inspection contract with the U.N.

Secretariat. With horrendous revelations this week about so called UN peace keepers and aid workers, the whole outfit needs a global watchdog as called for by charity Save the children.

  5. The UN is the organization of many countries wanting to get together for the good of our world.  It has many programs that help with global problems, including World food program, to help end global hunger.  A website, called freerice.com, is part of their organization.  You answer vocabulary questions, and for every correct answer, they donate 20 grains of rice to the World food program.
