  1. Check with the airline.  Honestly, sometimes you have to re-check your luggage and other times you don't.   If you are flying with two different airlines, my guess would be that you will have to re-check.  Have fun!

  2. Generally, you check-in at your first departure airport and don't see your bags again until your final destination.  The bags are automatically moved from one flight to the next.  That is true even when you have separate tickets for each leg of the trip (which you don't) as long as you show all of the tickets when you first check-in.

An exception may be when you fly to another country and switch to a domestic flight. In that case you may have to go through Passport Control & Customs at the first arrival airport. In that case you will go through passport control, collect your bags, go through Customs, and then give the bags back to the airline.  It isn't necessary to "check-in" again.

The airline will be able to tell you exactly what is required if you call them.

  3. Were you just issued 1 ticket ? If you just have 1 ticket for all your flights, your bags will be checked through ( until you get to your 1st international destination to go through customs ) you will then have to claim and recheck them. If you are traveling on more than 1 ticket, most likely you would have to claim and recheck your bags with each carrier.
