Internet Cookies (settings) reset themselves???

Why is it that every time I set my cookies' setting toa certain level and then close I.E. the levels reset themselves (to accept all cookies)? Is there like a registry hack to undo this? Also what are some other internet hacks through the registry? I have I.E. 7 and have tabbed browsing enabled but I CANNOT see the tabs?! I can't change my home page either. Is there another way around this except a format? I would really like to learn a couple of new tricks. Thanks.

  1. Are you setting the cookies security level as Administrator? If not, then the security settings for each Internet Zone can only be controlled and saved to whatever settings the Administrator set it to be. If you cannot change the home page, then probably the Administrator deemed it to be fixed.

Also, probably there are software installed which is messing with the security settings changes of IE. Temporarily turning off these software, like SpywareBlaster, or SpyBot - S&D, usually could enable an Administrator to change the IE settings.

For the tabbed browsing, maybe you are opening a new windows, instead of opening a new tab?
