Internet Cuts Out?

Question

My wireless Internet cuts out every few mins for about 3 or 4 seconds, our router is a DIR-300 and we run with 3 other wireless networks. It has always worked perfectly but now suddenly whenever im playing games it cuts out for a few seconds then its back normal then out and back again and so on. Its not noticable when surfing the net or on MSN but playing games it just becomes frustraiting if any1 can help it would be appreciated, thanks.

Sounds like it could be a number of things.  You said it worked before you got he new router so it might be that the new one is bad or that it is not setup quite right.  Double check the settings in it with what your ISP said they should be.  Also make sure that it is the same speed as your old one.  If your old one was a Wireless G speed and this one is only capable of Wireless B speeds (slower) that could be a problem.  Did you get a new one because the old one died?  Could you try a different router to see if that fixes the problem.  If it doesn't then it is something on the PC.  When you say it "cuts out" what do you mean.  Does the game stutter or do you get disconnect.  I assume you are playing the games online.  If you not online with the games it has nothing to do with the router.  If they are online and your not getting disconnected, the router is not dropping the connection so it is not the router there either (it is the PC).  If you actually get disconnected then it is the router.  It sounds like you're not actually dropping connection but experiencing "lag" in your game.  This is from too many people online, a slow PC not capable of handling the game, or a slow internet connection.  Have you added more programs to your PC?  Anti-virus and other programs could cause your PC to slow way down and not run the games as well too.

It might be down to your actual computer, the specs for the game might be too high and it's your computer juddering for a couple of seconds to get back up to speed.
