Internet Explorer Fans: Are you sick of Mozilla Firefox fans saying switch to Firefox?

It seems everywhere I go I get back lashed for using Internet Explorer. They say that it is unsecure and has its threats. EVERY BROWSER HAS ITS THREATS! It comes down to how prepared your computer is.

IE Fans: Have you tried Firefox 3? Do you like it? How about IE7? Do you like IE7?

  1. IE

Pros: Default Web Browser, Only Browser to Work with Microsoft Websites

Cons: Security Vulnerabilities, Slow in comparison to FF3.

During the period of IE5 and IE6, Internet Explorer used to rule. In those times, Firefox2 was h**l. But with the introduction of IE7 and FF3, things were reversed. People began crying over IE like anything for its Security Vulnerabilities and limited cutomisations. You could  say that Non-Popularity of Microsoft Windows Vista has been over-reacted in the form of Criticism of other Microsoft Products, particularly IE.But I have personally experienced that on webistes like Orkut, People with Slower Connections suffer like anything.

  2. I use IE 7, I have no problem with it why? Because I have protection on my computer. My cousin used firefox, and got a virus for not having a firewall. A friend uses IE 7 and his computer crashed for not wanting to waste a few buck on a firewall. It doesn't really matter what you use as long as you are protecting your computer from malicious software, like worms, trojans, bugs etc. I rather stay with IE 7 it works good, and as far as viruses Im not concerned.

  3. From a Firefox Fan, no...switch to Firefox :) It renders faster, has a huge batch of add-ons and great customizations, and it's open-source :D

  4. Tried it.  Hated it.  Deleted t.

Never heard anymore from/about FF3 again.

  5. I use Opera, IE, and Firefox on a daily basis. I use Opera if I'm surfing the web, IE if I'm going to a site that isn't compatible with FireFox or Opera, and FireFox if I'm watching/streaming videos. People will try to convert you to Mozilla like they'll try to convert you to their religion. They think there way is "THE" way and will do whatever it takes to make themselves feel like they're making a difference. (That came out pretty harsh, and I don't mean it to be, and I have nothing against any religion[I'm a Christian])

And think of it this way, in the end, they all take you to the same internet, so it's personal preference.

  6. Every browser does have its threats. This is very true.

However, if you look at time you will see that IE has had several more than any other browser.

You will also see that as FF3 gets more popular, its security ranking stays in check, while IE......

There is also the fact that FF supports web standards much better IE, this means that the more popular FF gets, then web developers will be forced to start building their websites to support web standards more closely, thus making the Internet a better place for all.

For proof you can take the Acid3 test.

IE7 scores 14 out of 100, while FF3 scores a 71 (no browser is perfect, but Opera is exceptional).

    Try the test yourself:

Also, if you are using XP, then you are in fact using the least secure system you can be using, no matter how locked down it is.

(Security holes come & go, but generally speaking XP & MAC are the lesser secure systems)

    As of 8/23/08:

With ALL security patches applied, XP still has 26 open holes (with the highest one rated Moderately critical)

If you have Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc) installed on your computer, you're system is Highly critical

Again, this is with all security patches applied

    MAC

4 security holes, with all patches applied

    http://secunia.com/product/96/?task=advi...

(with the highest one rated Less critical)

    Vista

2 security holes, with all patches applied

    http://secunia.com/product/13223/?task=a...

(with the highest one rated Less critical)

    Linux/Ubuntu

0 security holes, with all patches applied

    http://secunia.com/product/18611/?task=a...

Linux is the most secure despite its servers being the most popular in the world - not bad for a legally free Operating system.

    My point:

No matter how "prepared" your computer is, you will still have security holes unless you are using Linux.

You might as well use a more secure browser to lessen the chances of s******g up your PC

One other thing, FF3 uses less memory than any other browser
