Internet Explorer "about blank"?

Question

Why do I get the "about blank" screen only on Internet Explorer and not on other browsers? I just re-installed Windows XP last week. I cant have that much malware and spyware already can I?

it is because your browsers homepage is "about blank" or u don't have any homepage...

you can set your homepage by doing this:

open your internet browser

click on tools

click on internet option

then type your home page which u like..(e.g.--www.google.com)

click on use current then apply

then click ok

then again restart your internet explorer..

I've been getting the same "c**p", the past two weeks when I try to log in under my name. I have to log in under my wife's then go to sign out and then in under my alternate name?

Is your homepage "about:blank"? If it is, you can always reconfigure it by going to Tools > Options and changing your homepage from there. Your computer should be fine, no viruses and such.

well this normally happens when you open a tab. so go on google (if possible) and save for you homepage. it happened to me then i just installed firefox and it went off! simple!!

Possible your homepage has been set to about.blank

However if you set your homepage to somewhere different and it keeps changing back, have a scan with Superantispyware, should block homepage changes by malware.

about blank is a universal command for all browsers to show just a blank page, it has nothing to do with malware i can make the same thing happen on my psp brwser
