I am an attorney in the Sacramento area who practices in areas of law related to death. I have a web presence. I want to know how potential clients select an attorney in my area when a loved on dies. Thus, I am asking for YOUR HELP! Let's say your parent has died in Sacramento and you need an attorney. How would you find one on the web? What web sites would you use? What search words would you use? If possible, try to give me some details and your thought process.

BONUS QUESTION: If you look at a few of the sites that are there of Sacramento attorneys in this area of law which one would you likely hire and why?

Keywords to test might include: death law, estate law, estate lawyer, estate attorney, wrongful death law, wrongful death attorney, wrongful death law firm and many more. Keyword research should follow a short planning session aimed at identify the best possible sources of traffic and content to generate business.

You could build a business profile and distribute it to 25 to 50 key online databases that feed many local and specialized sites.  

You could also promote your law firm to area web sites, like Sacramento.com, Sacbusiness.com, Craigslist, Kinjiji and probably others.

The way people will find you on the web is by typing in search words to their search engine.  You should hire  a company to do some keyword research for you, that way you can find out which terms folks will likely use in the search engines and you can optimize your site for those specific words.  Another helpful way to figure this out  is for someone to do a keyword analysis of your competition.
