Internet/Phone Line?

Do I have to have a house phone in order to get the internet hooked up?

No u don't, just ask your local phone company for the dry DSL service.

You can get internet thru your cable company, and its better/faster than DSL in my opinion.

the voip phones (internet phones) work over the internet, so you need to have an internet connection, and as mentioned this doesnt have to come through dsl, which is through your phone company, it could come through satalite or cable. if it does come from dsl you dont need to pay a full phone bill, just for dsl service. it may not pay to use a voip phone if you do not use inet  otherwise. check it out. good luck

only if you have still dial-up!!! otherwise you can use cable....DSL..., wifi-fixed like clearwire.com....or ViOS from Verizon!!!
