Internet Phone Not Working?

My internet phone service is VOIP. The problem is sometimes happens. My internet works but the phone doesn't. I heard you have to do something but they don't really explain it well. Please help :[

Reboot your Router and ATA (analog phone adapter).

If not sure how to reboot, just unplug power cord to both units (if separate units).  Wait a few seconds, ...then re-connect power cord.  Wait a few more minutes to see if ATA reconnects to Internet.  

Sometimes this is enough to reset connections.

Monitor the state of LEDs on Router/ATA for status.  Often they will clue you if connections are OK or not.

Otherwise, good luck contacting your VoIP service provider to assist you with problem resolution.
