For a few days my bigpond broadband has been really slow. I havnt used up all my downloads and i am using a billion bipac5200G router with my bigpind internet modem hocked up to LAN line 2 while the ethernet cable is in LAN line 1. I did just have the router byitsel and it still was the same for the last few days when i tried it with my internet modem. Can anyone help me or tell me what the problem is. (I use mozilla Firefox aswell if that help). oh and when i mean slow i mean it wont even load youtube without stopping and it used to.

  1. get some more ram

  2. These patent registry cleaners and whatnot don't get all the crud out, which slows down things. If you have XP or a non-home version of Vista, you can make a backup on flash drive or CD of all your files, and a paper list of all the downloads you actually use. Then under "advanced techniques" in Restoral, do a "destructive" restoral which re-formats the hard drive, and cleans out crud you can't get at any other way. Also since many of the automatic upgrades actually are intended to sabotage XP to make Vista look better by comparison, XP users can avoid clicking on allowing upgrades, as the original XP is better than the upgraded. The whole process takes me 5 hours, but starting fresh after laying waste to all my virus enemies in one swing of the sword is more satisfying than a Ben & Jerry's! Regards, Larry.
