Internet Speed Test Question?

i need to know what speed do i have to have in order for my computer, or internet, to be at its regular speed because in testmyspeed.com, it says my download is 1152kbps & my upload is 309kbps.

your download speed is good.. but your upload is a pretty mess..it could have something to do with your computer.. antivirus and stuff or it could have something with ISP ..

Most computer users do a whole lot of downloading and very little uploading.  For example, in a web browser, you type in a URL, and that pathname is sent to the web server, but that web server is going to send you web pages, pictures, etc.  Broadband connections (Cable Modem, DSL) are almost always weighted to have the majority of the bandwidth be for downloading and not uploading.  As a matter of fact, there are 4 types of "DSL" - the one almost everybody uses is "ADSL", the "A" standing for Asynchronous - meaning the upload and download bandwidths are not equal.

This is why people have come up with things like "bittorrent" to exchange files - by spreading the files across multiple computers acting as "servers", you can use all the "upload" bandwidth of the various servers to actually fill up the bandwidth of the client that is downloading.
