I made a comment on a CNN affiliated website, and now I have a guy who somehow got my email and is sending me vague threats and included personal information that I know is not posted on the Internet. He has even sent email posing as an "old friend," asking my whereabouts at certain times. Now, I haven't replied because I know he's trying to get my IP address. SO, should I worry? Can he find my house (get my IP just by sending me email I don't reply to)? Can he s***w up my computer? What should I do to pre-empt this? I hate to change email accounts. I've already told the website's admins, but the threats are so vague they can't do anything. Still, calling me by first name and telling me other personal things is too creepy...

  1. Get Norton. They prevent this from happening in the future. But, if he stills does this. I suggest you call 911.QUICKLY!

  2. A lot of people don't realize, internet offenses can be a CRIME. There was this girl who was suicidal on the internet and making postings on Myspace, and a grown woman told her to just "end it all." The girl did so, and the woman was tracked down and she was indicted. You can contact local authorities about this person and ask what steps you can take. Contact a good lawyer if you are serious.

  3. now close that email and do a hotmail that incase he knows the secret answer ok

  4. maybe a friend of yours is doing a prank on you.

but bailey is right, call the cops and report that guy. that would teach em a lesson

  5. i don't think i have any kind of real good answer, but if it were me, i'd call the cops just because i get really freaked out by stuff like that. that guy is creepy and needs to be dealt with. do you have his ip address??
