Internet based plant identification.?

I am a keen gardener but cannot identify all the plants in my or friends gardens. I have several gardening books but these do not show all of them. Does anyone know of any websites, or software, for easy plant identification.

  1. Plant finder shows photo, zone, sun preference, etc when you click on name. There is also a 'search plant finder' box in the top right hand corner.

    This is Ohio State University's facts site which shows the picture of each plant you click on.  This list includes many different varieties of the same plant (There's eleven varieties of Achillea listed). You'll find even more ingo & photos when you click on box on the bottom  "Search Plant Facts" (after the description):

    Here's a Plant Library that lists perennials, annuals & biennials alphabetically by scientific name with the common name listed next to it. You can click on the underlined names for more info & photo of the perennial.
