  1. Close, your up to 6Megs (megabits).. Internet is measured in Megabits.

    1 Megabit = .125 Megabytes

    8 Megabits = 1 MegaByte

  2. You will never have the speed that is advertised. If you look at your plan it will say that you can receive UP TO 8megs but never the full 8megs. Ask you ISP what your line can hold and take the package that is just under that rate, because you will pay for the higher line speed but will only get the lower speed.

  3. you never get all that is advertised for the your price plan. i just downgraded from high speed broadband to classic broadband and i do not notice any difference in speed. plus i'm paying less than half of what i used to pay.

  4. You wont always have the speed determined in the plans. The browsing experience will be almost same for both classic broadband & high speed internet. Only the big difference in classic & high speed is the download speed. If you want to download a 100mb file from rapid share, then it will take 2:15 mins to download in case of high speed & about 45 mins for a classic broadband. Simple math is that your download speed will be the 11% of your total bandwidth. Some say that the connecting speed will be 1/4 th of your determined bandwidth.

  5. you are doing quite well, you are getting 6.9 megabits per second, it is generally suggested that if you get 80 - 85 % of the stated speed (8mbps) you have a good connection. i have a 8mbps connection and i get about the same connection speed so i am happy with it, as you should be
