Internet connection Question.?

Question

i have a windows ME (Millennium Edition) and i wish to connect it to the internet. My parents have a Wireless router on there computer and i wanted to connect my computer to the internet by using the router.

What do i need to do that??!! i want the product to be atlest under $30

a wifi card, you can get one from radio shack for $40,

(make sure it's linkys).

Not knowing if you are using a laptop or desktop .. best answer I can give is to visit your computer supply business (such as BestBuy, CircuitCity, Etc.) and look at the wireless receivers that will plug into a USB port.  You may find one in the price range you're looking for. I did.

Also .. for a desktop .. you can also buy a "card" that has to be installed.

For a laptop .. you can buy a "card" that fits into the PMCIA slot.

I like the one that plugs into the USB port because it allows me to use it on several different devices without having to purchase one for each.

I use the same one for one of my desktops and my laptop.  I'm never using both at the same time anyway.

You might also look on ebay or other sites for a discounted price.

all you need is the wireless adapter and ask your parents for the password key and your ip address on the set up that came with the internet.

I would suggest, checking ebay for a used usb adapter since your looking for an under 30$ option, in addition the aging ME OS your using. this is your best bet to find parts in the price range.......or try walmart, if there is one in your neighborhood. but again........your using ME......may be very hard to find hardware with ME drivers. Ebay is likely the best place to look.
