Internet connection disconnects and reconnects randomly?

Question

OK guys I have an Intel(R) PROSet Ethernet PCI card installed on my computer. When I connect a (verified checked and working) ethernet cord to it I am not able to connect to my internet connection. I do not use a router or modem I just connect directly to an ethernet drop.

OK now when I go to my Device manager and go to properties and configure my Link Speed and set it at 10Mbps/Half Dulplex it connects to my internet connection but it disconnects and reconnects randomly.

Alright well I went to my roommate's room and connected to his drop and I connect without any problems. Also back in my room using my same ethernet cord and my same drop that I am having issues with I connected my laptop just like I did my desktop before and it connects perfectly. What is going on? I have never seen anything like.

Under my Diagnostics my cable and Hardware pass the test but when I test my connection I get a yellow exclamation mark saying: No WINS server is available for this connection.

Right click the LAN connection and click repair.  Maybe this is an issue with your jack... contact your college IT professional to have it fixed.
