This is driving me mad! I'm a windows XP user and have a belkin dongle and broadband connection at home. I can connect to the net but it disconnects after about 5 minutes and the only way i can get back online is by 'repairing' the connection via the windows tool. I don't think its our connection as my housemates laptops work fine and i've had the same issue at another location. Nothing to do with reception either as i'm right next to the tinterweb box. Rubbish at this stuff so if anyone has any suggestions/links, that would be much appreciated! Thankyou.

  1. Restart your system properly

  2. just ask your service provider, and use ip address, i was also facing same problem,,,

  3. you might want to check to see if your router has your pc set to a roaming ip address. if you go to the network map you will be able to see the router, right click it and go to the devices website. after that you need to go to the home network area and look at the wireless settings and find the name of your pc and click on settings for that device, make sure the 'always use the same IP address' box is checked. otherwise you could just use an ethernet cable to connect through the router
