  1. You have 2 choices really, The first of these is to run an RJ45 (ethernet) cable from the router to the device you wish to connect, However depending on the distance this could become expensive. The second option is to buy a wireless dongle these are pretty cheap (around £10 - £15 on ebay) connect this to the PC only connecting over LAN and it will work just the same as the PC using both LAN and wireless

  2. You have to run an R45 ( lan ) cable from you modem to the basement, or you could use those plug socket adaptors that use the mains to transmit the LAN, Devolo do them but they are not cheap. There are other brands as well look on Ebay.

  3. Laptop 1 : wireless + lan

    Laptop 2 : lan

Buy a rj45 crossing cable to connect two laptops via lan

Make sure wireless is connected to internet and turn on ICS on wireless of laptop 1

Make sure lan on laptop 2 is DHCP.

Now, laptop 2 can use the internet via laptop 1's wireless

  4. how would you want to connect it? wireless? what's your router?
