Ok, so on my computer I have America Online, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox. Only America Online works. Internet Explorer and Firefox have no connection. What's the problem? I hate using AO because it takes too long to start up. Any help will do!

THANKS!

  1. go to start--- run---- type cmd .... type "ping www.yahoo.com" without quotes.... see if reply comes...

then go to firefox---- tools--- option----advanced in that--- network----connection settings... default is (no proxies selected ) change it to automatic detect proxy settings.... click ok...and restart firefox...

  2. Try uninstalling AOL.

  3. ur internet explorer is not working because it doesn't have any connections..

to do this.. first in ur desktop....

    open my network places

then select View network connections (on the left side of screen)

then select. create a new connection.

then follow the instructions and it will work.

  4. Do you have Norton or McAfee? Sometimes they'll get so excited about protecting your computer, they'll take over your internet connections!

Try uninstalling them and replacing them with AVG Antivirus (one I've been using for years and would actually recommend over Norton or McAfee): http://free.avg.com/ww.download-avg-anti...

If that doesn't work, like the first poster said, try uninstalling AOL. (I agree, it's a c**p browser - you shouldn't even have it on your computer if you're not using it, anyway.) If that fails, grab the latest Firefox (3.0.1, just so you know) and see if that works.
