Hi!

For the past few weeks now, my internet has become very slow. And now, for about a week, i've been having problems connection to the interent with my modem.

It will sometimes connect in the mornings, but it then seem to not connect in the evenings. I've restarted the compter countless times, but that doesn't make any difference..... if it doesn't want to connect, then i leave it for a few hours, and try again latter.

Could this be down to my computer, or is there a problem with the modem or something life that??

  1. At the back of the modem is an on/off switch, if you are having problems switch it off leave for 2 mins: and then switch it on again that should solve your problem

  2. if you say different hours ,makes a different, then check out with your CABLE company or DSL or who ever your ISP provider is..

  3. It's nothing to do with your computer and everything to do with Talk Talk. I've unfortunately been with them for almost a year now (on an 18 month contract). The internet is constantly slow - or doesn't work at all. I've spent hours on the phone with them and they said they moved it to their fastest connection, but only worked properly for about 3 days and then went back to slow or not working. Last time I rang I spoke to a really horrible bloke who tried to blame it on everything other than their network and said he was going to put on the form that I had refused to allow him to carry out testing, because I said that I'd been down that route already with no success. I can't see that it's anything other than their fault, as when I had Tesco Broadband it worked perfectly. I only went with Talk Talk because they offered a cheap deal. I can't wait for the beginning of next year when I can end the contract and go with a decent supplier.

What I almost forgot to say was that the only way it seems to come back is if everything is disconnected - plugs from modem, phone line, absolutely everything. Leave it for about half an hour and it sometimes comes back.

  4. Hmmmmm if it works in the morning and not it the evenings it may be because of a lot of traffic in the area. Talk talk have a lot of customers which means its possible that their lines can be cluttered (they use bt lines for this). Simply put during peak times the lines can be cluttered and peoples speed time is reduced dramatically. Ring talk talk and let them now of the problem.
