  1. If you are moving somewhere that only offers dsl then yes, you will need a phone line. Telephone companies will require you to have a phone line to go along with dsl (which is a bunch of c**p). If you have cable internet available where you are moving then you will be in good shape. Good luck.

  2. you can find out if DRY or NAKED DSL is available in the area where you are moving to, which is DSL with out phone service.. it cost slightly more then DSL bundled with phone service...

    cable modem service

fios, or att fiberoptic service (think its called Uverse or something like that) if it is available in your area

EV-DO cellular internet from sprint or verizon (CDMA carriers)

EDGE cellular internet from tmobile or att (GSM carriers) alittle slower then EV-DO

satellite internet is the slowest of the group.. and in most cases the most expensive, but is another option...

  3. You could try 3g broadband via a usb modem from T.Mobile Three or Vodaphone there basic internet no wi fi ect Three seems to be the best But there caps are **** .Also cable broadband (Virgin media) you dont need a land line and if your rich u can try sattellite broadband but any dsl service u need a bt line AOL TISCALI BT PIPEX ECT.....

  4. If you live in an area where "Dry DSL" or "Naked DSL" is available this is the solution for you.

Metro United (www.metrouni.com) is one of the few providers that provides such a service. Check with them.
