  1. If you give some information on how you are connecting them we might be able to help.

  2. oh my

linksys gave us grief for 2 years

I plugged in my  airport express

11 happy computers have had great dsl since January with NO problems

  3. I have linksys too, Try checking your wires to see if one is not working properly, or call your internet provider

  4. This works about 99% of the time

    1. Get out your router manual. (use either router - both are good brands. I have used them both and they work fine)

    2. See how to access the setup pages using your browser. Typically you enter the router address (such as 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Then enter the user name and password to access the router. It's in the manual

    3. Under setup, you will find a check box or radio button that says "clone MAC ID"  select it

    4. Now save your settings and restart your router and your modem

You should be able to get on line.

The reason you have to do this is when you set up your DSL system, you did not have your router connected. The modem and the ISP took the MAC ID of your computer as identification of who you are.

The ISP uses your MAC ID to identify you as a real customer.

Putting the router in the way, without cloning the MAC ID, sent an unknown ID to the ISP who would not give you an internet connection. Cloning the MAC ID fixes that problem

  5. Use the reset button on your router. Make sure you are plugging the modem into the modem jack of your router. Make sure your router is set to dynamic ip.(NOT the modem)
