  1. What is happening is that when you connect the router, the modem (and your ISP) no longer see the MAC ID of your computer. Because they do not recognize the MAC ID they are seeing, they will not give you an IP address, so you cannot get out to the Internet.

To fix this, get out your router manual and see how to access your router using your browser. You will be asked a user name and password. They are in the manual as well.

Now go to the WAN setup page and select "Clone MAC ID" The router will read the MAC ID  of your computer and present it to the Internet side of the router. Now your ISP can read it and you will be able to access the Internet

  2. what you think you just plugg it in and you have internet ???

it has to be configured . read the manual

  3. Ok I got the answer, grab your computer rip out all the wires. Grab the router and modem while your at it. Find your nearest window open it and throw it thru the screen. Make sure you watch it fall. After that grab a sledgehammer golf club baseball bat etc... Smash everything to smithrines and make sure you show that lowsy technology whose boss. Make sure its so busted that its unrecognizable. From their your going to grab all of it and throw it into the back seat of your car. Drive that car to your nearest cliff and or pier. Before the car is about to hit into the water or edge of the cliff jump out of your car so you survive. If your feeling lucky, may I suggest you stay in your car just to see what happens. Cheerio!!!!

  4. time for a new router.
