For the last 2 days I've been having trouble with internet explorer 7. It wont load up properly and if it does it just keeps freezing and (not responding), I had to install firefox just to ask this question. I downloaded the beta version of IE8 to see if it would help but no difference, any ideas on what i should do to fix this?

  1. My suggestion is stick with firefox, its so much quicker with cool add-ons like: cooliris, which enables you to read a link without clicking on it.  Also the new version has yahoo toolbar which is very handy, you can modify the toolbar to include anything you want. There are some great themes too.

Do you possibly have a virus?? Try download trial version of trojan remover, some viruses can mess with your explorer trying to send you to other sites.

  2. Firefox..... Kaspersky Internet security 2009.

  3. Well, IE8 is still in the BETA (testing) phase so it will still have many bugs and security problems for good old microsoft to fix before it can be trusted as a steady browser. They are hoping to release a later version later on this year. As for IE7, did you install anything that would affect the browser for example; flash, shockwave, add-ons? If so, I would un-install them and see if it works again. If not as a last resort I would give your PC a little clean - defrag it and get rid of any unnecessary rubbish. Do you have some good firewall and virus software? If not I would recommend getting AVG 8.0 free and Comodo 3 free. I would also consider getting Spybot Search and Destroy. It speeded up my browser after removing alot of tracing cookies etc.

I would just stick with Firefox though. It's new, it's fresh and it's alot better than any microsoft c**p. It also speeds up your browsing speed because it loads pages so quick.

  4. If i were you, i would scrap IE altogether.  It isn't able to render some webpages and it isn't that stable... Use Firefox or download google Chrome which is free.  I assure you your browsing will be much easier with these 2 browsers...

To get rid of IE go to 'Set Program access and defaults' and disable IE use from there while setting another browser of your preference.

  5. You could try accessing IE 7 through the Add on "Avant Browser" which I what I have been using 4 years.  Or uninstalling IE7 and reinstalling IE6.

  6. Dear, this happenes to every second computer, listen as IE8 is BETA u shud not rely it, cos beta means it is in Testing phase, uninstall it, secondly there are almost 7-8 core Security update patches , either u can windows update, but if u want quick releife download the patches one by one and install them all wihtout restarting ur PC and then finally reboot and enjoy ;). this is not some hit n trial its the real solution my pal.

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...

Go there to get one and there will 1 update and then in the end of every page after downloading ull see WHAT OTHERS DOWNLOADING... ;) get all other as well for IE 7

n make ur life easy take care

  7. Try and disable some of the addons in IE7 as they may be causing a conflict. Go to Tools --> Mange Add Ons and disable them all. Then re-enable them one by one to find which one is causing issues.

Failing that I would recommende completelytly uninstalling IE7. Run a virus check, reinstall IE7 and install your system updates and security updates from the Microsoftft site.

  8. first do a virus scan then if nothing shows up try removing IE7 and install it again

  9. may be some sort of malware (virus) got installed in your system. Do some virus scan using genuine anti-virus software.

  10. keep firefox and do a full clean up of your pc and if IE 8 does not work sue them

  11. Since you have already un-installed IE 7, simply re-install a fresh IE 7 from the website. IE 8 has problems of its own and constantly receives patches from Microsoft. IE 7 add on's could be the other problem. Did you recently install new add-on's? Then disable them and see if it helps.

  12. system restore it
