Internet help????????

Question

i have an aol account that i always stay signed into, but all of a sudden, it keeps saying there is an error and it is not working and to retry but i retry and nothing happens. i know that aol isn't down because my friend had it up at his house last night and (this is happenening on my laptop) i can get on it on my house computer. this started yesterday at my dorm, and i came home and its still not working...any help on how to get on it???

Well try to reinstall the software or try to check your firewall.

I hate to say it, but it sounds like it could be an error with the AOL software itself. If so, the only fix would be to re-install or repair AOL using an AOL CD.

The only other thing I can think of to try is opening IE to make sure you really are online before doing this. Presuming you are in DSL (I see you are in your dorm, so it should work).

If you are on dialup, I suggest creating a dial-up connection manually to try with another provider to be certain that it is not a problem with your modem. Although I personally doubt this is the issue.

its not aol..its your dorm..most likely the internet goes down a couple of times..this has been happening at my college too..the brand new dorms interent and wifi connections keep failing.
