Internet home phones?

im thinking of buying an internet phone from tesco's, however my wireless broadband connection at home is from virgin, does this matter? would the tesco's phone be compatible with the virgin broadband?

Also, i was wondering if you have to have the a computer on whilst i am calling a person?

yes!!.....you can use any VoIP phone, that's correct!

I use a VoIP phone.....with build-in router/firewall....

and no your computer doesn't have to be "ON!!

your RJ45 (Cat5) goes directly into your modem....
