will it cost more to connect two pc's to the same internet connection using two modems?

the pc's are in two different rooms and i dont want to use a router.

  1. short answer yes

    long answer: each modem is designed to be assigned its own unique ip address which had sub addresses that designate each computer connected to the modem. if you want to get another modem thats a separate ip which means that you will getting a whole different identity, therefore you will be charged separately for the new line.

  2. Yes.  it will, because first off you have to get 2 modems, and second, if you're using a cable connection, you have to get the internet served to 2 of your cable connections down by your circuit breaker.  It would be much more intellegent to just get a router.
