Internet problem: how to restore to default settings?

i just bought a new pc, an NEC powermate C2200. and i cant connect to my internet LAN connection. what can i do?

Make sure your machine has drivers for Network and communication (modem)

Right click my computer, click properties, hardware (tab), device manager, open the plus sign of network adapters,

If you notice that there is a question mark ( yellow in color mostly)

meaning the drivers are not present, go to site of machine model and download drivers, you can use google to search drivers for that purpose.

You might have not have the little icon set up. Same thing happen to me. All you have to do it take your laptop to any computer store like bestbuy or circut city and they can fix it for you no problem.

If your internet connection is set up, but you cannot to the net, you can try out running this application:

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/winsockxpfi...

Download it and then run it. It will ask you to restart. Restart and then see if it has started working or not.
