Internet router cords?

Okay so i Have internet upstairs through a router not wireless I'm using telus as my internet provider and my router is a SIEMENS GaiasetRSE567 so my question is how do i get internet downstairs through my upstairs router like a cord I tried a phone cord but that didn't work does anyone know what cord I need? Thanks

  1. Category 5 network cable - you can buy them anywhere, but Best Buy/Circuit City don't carry long ones.  You can find them up to 50 feet or so, as well as couplers to join two together into a longer cable.

    Cat 5, 5e and 6 will all work for you.

    You can also buy your own network cable and crimp tool, and make your own.


  2. It's called an RJ45 type connector and looks like a telephone jack but is 8 pins and wired differently.  Radio Shack, Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. will have this cable and most likely in the length you need.
