Internet sites for comparing car insurance in the UK, have you saved money?

Question

My car insurance is up 1st Aug just looking at the many internet sites to compare prices.

Have you gone through these sites and made genuine savings on car ins renewal from you last years policy

What internet site did you use to compare you policy price

I need monthly payments over 12 months if possible!

My car is a 2002 Renault scenic 1600cc petrol.

This is going to sound really corny and I hate to admit it, but I saved money with confused.com., and rather a lot at that. I was quoted a renewal premium of £275.00 and they came in with a quote of £159.00 on like for like cover !!!

...and no I don't work for them and I was skeptical even as I typed my details into their site.

As far as your quote is concerned, you can type into this web site, so I suggest that you type in theirs. Why should I do your work for you ?

yes i did!

a friend at work recommended money supermarket so when my car insurance was due i went on the site (i have a 2L VW new beetle) i saved £211 off my renewal quote, which was a third of the bill, so was well pleased with that!!    : )

And I saved £100 on last years quote.

It took 20 mins to fill in all the questionnaire and then about five minutes for about 20 quotes to come up.

Picked the one I wanted and within a wee while I had a new policy with windscreen and key loss cover.

I find its the best.  Have been using it for two years now.

They do save you money but the cheaper ones have a higher excess so wathch out for that . I find direct line very good

Compare.com or gocompare.com They both came up with the same answer with a saving on my car insurance. I informed my present company and they agreed to undercut the lowest quote. I save about £20 on the renewal.
