  1. Nope...

Your slowest connection will be your next hop... From the Router to your Modem to your ISP.  That connection there is about 3 to 8Mbps.

Your connection for the ISP to the WWW is based on congestion and how far you travel and will be somewhat slower... around .5 to 4 Mbps.

The wireless is sharing 11 to 54 Mbps depending on how many users are using it (acts as a hub rather than a switch).

The wired solution is working at 100 to 1000 Mbps and should be a dedicated amount if your router is expensive enough to act as a switch vice a hub!...

  2. Connection differs from wireless to hard-wired connection. If you are using ethernet connection data is transmitted on 100 mbps while on wireless its 54 mbps. Therefore, hard-wired connection is faster compared to wireless.  If both connections are connected then you are using the LAN connection.

  3. Pretty much as long as you are not on the outter range of your wireless you will not notice a downloading speed difference. The fastest residential internet speeds i have seen are 50Mbps which I highly doubt you have. Most likely you have from 1.5 - 8 Mbps. Wireless can travel as said before 11-54Mbps depending on signal strength. Cable will have lower ping times (on average) than wireless, so for gaming you will probably notice a small difference. However you canno't connect two ways at a time without seriously knowing your stuff but then you are again limited by you internet speed. Thus it really doesnt matter which way you go, jsut whatever is more convienent

  4. NO IT WILL NOT WORK CAUSE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO CONNECT VIA ONE MEDIA AND U WILL HAVE ONLY ONE OPTION    WIRELESS OR DSL
