Internet speed connection question? ?

Okay, I want to know if there is any way I can make my internet faster. I really don't know a lot about how the internet connection and speed works. Is there anything in Network Connections > Local Area Connection > Properties or in the Windows Firewall box/window that I can change to make it faster? Or just anything in those areas where I can change. Also, I get confused with the selecting/checking the ones that I want to disable or what not...The wording is confusing... Any help. PLEASE??!! Thanks so much....

internet speed is normally controlled by the company you use or connectivity. if your willing to switch internets Fios is way faster then the older companies i recommend checking it out.

Unless you're running a business type network with routers, switches, balancers, then your best bet is to upgrade your internet service.
