Internet virus (HELP!)...?

Question

i think my computer has a virus because sometimes at random times about 15 internet explorers keep opening up and they wont disappear until i like close them off via the task manager

but the thing is this only ever happens on one website (imdb)

is there a way that i can get rid of it because its really annoying =(

i had this same problem a few weeks back, mine opened up so many pages and then crashed so the only thing we could do was to back up all important documents, pics etc on an external hard drive and then we wiped our hardrive and then reloaded windows again and all programs.

the only way is to wipe the virus from the hard drive really

its a bit of a mission, but it was the only thing that worked in the long run, after many attempts at other thing.

Ive seen this kind of thing before. Follow these instructions

1, booting to safe mode

Download update and THEN immunizes. Do a full scan

3, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

Download, install, update and select Quick Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan

4, Analyse and clean your PC http://www.ccleaner.com/download

Also do the registry scan.

5, My computer>Add/remove programs uninstall Spybot as malwarebites will take over the rest

6, Make sure you have a firewall Comodo

Yes i have had this happen and it is due to adware or something.

Download Lavasofts ad aware and also Spybot search and destroy, they're both free and very good protection for your pc.

That should solve your problems. With spybot make sure you read the instructions because from time to time it puts up messages on your screen, and you need to know how to deal with them.

if your computer is really slow and you click internet explorer a bunch of times, thats why. just double click it once and see if thats the problem

try going to the web site through a different browser ,it may solve the problem for you .

try "firefox" or even install the "crawler toolbar"

it is worth a try ,you can delete them if it doe's not solve the problem.

try also ~download "ccleaner"(yes 2c's)it clears out all temp files and cookies left by web browsing.run weekly it will give you some memory back.

it sounds as if you do not have a pop up blocker working- you can get a good one from downloads.com , and you should also do a spyware check- that can also cause the computer to bugger up sometimes. go to downloads.com, and pick ad aware and that should fix everything up. good luck.
