Internet wants to connect by itself?

Question

Whenever I turn on my PC, and wait for the GUI to load, eventually the computer will try and connect to the web (Dial-up) by itself without me clicking on it. I assuming its a dialer, does anyone have any advice?

The PC is running Win 2k Pro SP4

Go to internet explorer, properties, dial up tab, and uncheck automatically connect.

Install both to check and remove any possible dialers

Some program is trying to connect to the internet.  Sounds as if you have some malware to get rid of.

go to your network connections and if there is a 'broadband connection' there, delete it.
