Interpol deny investigation into Newcastle-Arsenal game
After Arsenal’s rather bizarre draw with Newcastle, which saw the Gunners go up four goals and then end up drawing four all, resulted in a whole lot of speculation about the game.
However, a French television went on to state that a number of German authorities had gone on to alert senior authorities and Interpol officials, after suspecting some rather dubious patterns in the game.
However, in response to those claims, an Interpol spokesperson has gone on to state that the Interpol does not conduct any independent research and can only go ahead with the investigation once it’s requested or asked to investigate the alleged allegations.
The spokesperson is reported to have said:
“Interpol is not aware of any request for assistance and any investigation would be conducted by national authorities. Interpol’s general secretariat has not been asked to provide any assistance in relation to this matter”.
As it stands, the Premier League has also not yet been informed of any investigations to look into the game, which was held at the St. James’s Park.
The match was carried out in a rather odd manner, given the game looked to be as good as over when Arsenal took a four goal lead in the opening twenty-six minutes and were cursing all the way to the final whistle.
However, a red card to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Abou-Diaby-c3453 and two weirdly awarded penalties later, Newcastle were back in the game and eventually drew on the night via a wonder goal courtesy of Cheick Tiote.
Despite the last goal of the game being a legitimate one, the two penalties that were awarded in the game were the major talking points. The first penalty after some arguments and discussions could have deemed to be justified, but the second penalty seemed
to have been awarded for a touch on a Newcastle player.
If the Interpol is to investigate the situation and Newcastle, the referee, or, any third parties are found to be guilty in the situation, then some rather drastic consequences are set to be in order.
However, all of this will only be proven right, if the Interpol are asked to proceed further with this investigation.
