ok i have my own interpretation but except for the first line of the poem..i dont know waht it means not even a clue..this poem is kind of hard to interpret...please help:

Nature's first green is gold,

Her hardest hue to hold.

Her early leaf's a flower;

But only so an hour.

Then leaf subsides to leaf.

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day.

Nothing gold can stay.

  1. OK, take 2. I wrote a response and it disappeared.

    Nothing that is valuable will last long, particularly when it is a natural thing.

    The Garden of Eden was perfection, but even that was contaminated by man's desire to know.

    A sunrise is beautiful, but as soon as it is over, you need to go to work.
