I speak Spanish fluently, I am a teacher and need to find work for the summer. Someone suggested being an interpreter on a consulting basis, excellent suggestion but I don't know HOW (I feel ashamed because this seems like an ignorant ?)

I would like to know, how to be an interpreter on a free lance basis? What are the logistics??

If you can help me thanks!!

  1. I am no expert on these matters, however, it might help to call schools, colleges, businesses to see if they are interested in the services of an interpreter. Look for businesses that employ a large number of spanish speaking people. Also, hospitals, ambulance companies. You could also put up some flyers that you would be willing to tutor students or those seeking citizenship. You could teach english to spanish speaking people and vice versa. Do a little checking and make the most of the skills you have. If you lived near me, I would certainly pay you to teach me spanish-it has become a "must have" language.
