Is there anyone else that does this. And could anybody give us exercises to do at the trot to help improve our seat, position, and balance.We practice on the lunge line because it is so much easier.

  1. i'm in the intercollegiate horse show association (IHSA) and i know that it's similar to the high school version, which i think is the interscholastic equestrian association, but i'm too lazy to look that up right now.

    and you should definitely trot without stirrups, post without stirrups, practice 2-point a lot and sink deep in your heals to stretch out your calf muscles. try posting up-up-down instead of up-down-up-down, and different variations of that. stand straight up in your stirrups. try riding bareback too.

    if you're on a lunge line, try riding with both arms out to the sides since you don't really have to worry about steering so much.

    you can also run, use an elliptical machine, bike, or do other cardio workouts to build up your leg muscles and your stamina. pilates and yoga will also strengthen your core and leg muscles, which would definitely help you as well.


  2. trot without stirrups, sitting and posting. this will create a longer leg.
