Interval Training?

How often should i do interval training.i run 5 miles 5 times a week.if i run 5 miles at about 48 min.then how much time should i jog...then run...then jog...so on??

  1. I run 5 mi MWF and T/TH I do strength training in the am and interval training on the treadmill in the pm. I do about 20-25 mins of interval training. You don't need a lot cus you are sprinting.

    I warm up for 5 mins at a steady jog, then I start out by running 100% sprint for one min then back to jogging for 1:30. And sprint again. I do this for a continuous 20 min or about 2-3 miles.

    If you want to incorporate your sprints in your distance runs, I would sprint for one minute and then jog for 1-2mins after. Do this the last 3 miles.

  3. id get on a track and do 200m at a little faster then u wanna run ur race in

    30 second break then another 200

    about 10 of these

    maybe on the other 2 days ur not running/
