  1. As in most jobs today they will do a criminal background check and a drug screening on you.

Questions wil be of this nature:

    Do you like children?

Can/did you ever change a diaper?

Any previous background in the care of infants to toddlers?

Do you get angry/upset easily when things aren't going your way?

They will probably give you scenario questions...like:

If you were caring for 3 small children and one wouldn't stop crying ....what would you do about it?

If you were in the middle a a diaper change, and another child started to  misbehave what would you do ...name your actions in a list/importance way?

If you noticed a child was running a temperature what are the things that you would do?

Do you feel comfortable telling a parent/customer anything that may come up involving their child....good news or bad?

I hope this helps you and you get the job!

  3. I'am a deputy nursery manager and we ask a range of questions when interviewing such as key areas of children's development. How you would adapt play for a child with learning difficulties and what your strengths and weaknesses are.

  4. Hi I work in a nursery and currently inteviewing for supply.

They will probably ask you a question on behaviour ie: they will prob give you a scenario and ask how you would deal with it.

They may also ask questions on activities, parent communication etc...

  5. HEy how you doing???

I am on an intern Assistant Montessori PreSchool Directress. On my inteview they had asked me questions such as: where do I see myself if 5years time, my study year (as I had done my Diploma in a year), I had quite high sporting credentials so they had asked about that. I had also gotten asked on how I would handle a situation if kids where fighting & how would i resolve everyday situations.

    GoodLuck

  6. My daughter just applied to a daycare. She was asked what her priorities would be be if she worked at the daycare. My first thought was safety. She answered (this was all on paper, so she had time to think) that she would want to be a positive role model. The first question was what effect has society had on childcare. My answer would have been: The growing need for both parents to work has increased the demand for the very best childcare. Your questions could be completely different. Good luck!

  7. They may ask what you will do if there is an emergency.  How to work with parents, especially one who is hesitant about leaving their child, any special skills you bring to the job like being bilingual or know sign language.  Use the internet to find what the general responsibilities are and make sure that you understand them and can explain how you can execute them.

  8. Of course the normal ones...

Experience? Are they looking for specific hours or are they flexible?

Do you they have their CPR and First Aid certification.

Why do they want to take care of children?

Where do they seem themselves in 5 years.

What is their view on behavior management.

The biggest way to see if they can work well is put them in a classroom for a working interview. Hope this helped!
