I have an interview tomorrow at JCPenney. I applied for sales support team, so I am looking for interview tips. Really, I need to know what kind of answers they are looking for because honestly I have no description of myself. I don't view myself either way.

  1. I work there- sales support does a lot of cleaning, such as fitting rooms, picking up clothes etc. Just be yourself, it's not a hard job. If your a hard worker and not flaky (we have a lot of people that call off whenever the sun comes out) you should be fine.

  2. Research as much as you can about the company you are interviewing with, that can help you come up with some cool questions the interviewer will know that you did your homework.

Also, almost all places ask you for your strengths and weaknesses. DO NOT say that you can't think of any weaknesses, everyone has weakness! I ask everyone I interview for these two things and if you tell me you don't have a weakness I don't hire you. For example: some of my weaknesses are, (a) I tend to want to be too friendly with the people that are working for me, I want to seem like the "cool boss" to them, then I always have a hard time cracking down on them when they need to be corrected because i've got this buddy relationship with them. (b) I get frustrated with myself when I am not able to finish tasks as quickly as I think they should be completed. (c) I always want to be a 'team leader' but am working on taking a back seat sometimes and giving others a chance to shine as well.

Being in retail means you have to deal with lots of crazy people, try to think of some cray things that could go down at the job that you would have to handle, and think of several ways that you would attempt to handle them, they will probably ask you some "what if" questions like that!

They are going to ask why they should hire you, "because your fun, your excited to work, dependable, and you love to learn new things"

Don't cross your arms, be on time, look the person in the eye, don't be too nervous, it's just answering questions!  It's okay you answer questions kinda weirdly, they are used to that, just be honest and try to be yourself!  Trust me... they've interviewed many people, they've prolly seen it all!

    Good Luck!
