I have an interview on Monday for a promotion at my company. I have heard that the process is hard. I am nervous. I have been know to get so nervous that I vomit. But I really need this job because of money reasons. I did a mock interview with a manager that I get along with and my answers were not that great. SHe was really supportive but what can I do to make sure I knock their socks off on Monday. It is 3 rounds of interviews with 2 people in each. Any advice?

  1. Just focus on what you are going to do once you get the job.

If you don't have a clear plan and can't articulate what you will do in the new position and how you will benefit the company, you will not look right for the job.

Also if you start picturing yourself in the position already, others may start to see you there as well.

Try not to think of it as an interview. Try to think of it more as a sales pitch for your great ideas. That may keep you from getting nervous by removing the focus from you and putting the focus on your plan and the company's future, which is really what the interviewer should be interested in.

  2. On Monday morning, as soon as you are awake, go in front of your bathroom mirror and look squarely into your eyes ( I mean, into your eyes!!!) and say to yourself slowly, firmly and with all the determination you can muster, the following -

" YOU WILL SUCCEED IN YOUR INTERVIEW TODAY"

"  YOU WILL DO EXCEEDINGLY WELL IN YOUR INTERVIEW TODAY"

" YOU WILL BE TRIUMPHANT TODAY"

" YOU WILL BE CONFIDENT AND ASSURED OF YOURSELF"

I suggest you say this to yourself for at least 15 minutes. But, be sincere with yourself and really talk to yourself.

Its called self-hypnosis, its worked very well for me always (e.g got my G License in the first try).

    ALL THE BEST !!!!
